PhD students

- Seeking candidates with a strong academic background in disciplines such as photonics, nonlinear optics, Applied/Engineering Physics, Materials Science, and related fields.
- A solid understanding of optics and photonics is essential, while prior hands-on experience with optical experiments is desirable but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with simulations and modeling tools such as COMSOL, LUMERICAL, etc., is considered advantageous.
- Enthusiasm for engaging in cutting-edge research within an interdisciplinary setting, collaborating with a diverse team of researchers.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Matlab, Python, LabView, Mathematica, etc., will be advantageous.

Postdocs

Opening available for a postdoctoral position:
The ideal applicant possesses expertise in the design, simulation, and characterization of photonic components and photonic integrated circuits.
- The ideal candidates for this position hold a Ph.D. degree in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science, or related fields. However, outstanding applicants from other academic domains are also strongly encouraged to apply.
- Successful candidates should have prior research experience in one of the two specified areas: (i) quantum optics and nanophotonics, and (ii) metamaterial and metasurfaces.
- Familiarity with a diverse range of nanofabrication methods and materials characterization techniques is considered an advantageous attribute.

Interested applicants can send their CV, cover letter, and contact information for at least two references to el.heidari@ufl.edu.
